Masser announces “Hour of the Wolf” new Ep
| “Hour of the Wolf”‘” is the new offering from cinematic metal project, Masser. The single is taken from the upcoming EP The Forlorn Path due to release on the 2nd February 2024. ‘Hour of the Wolf”s ethereal synths, dynamic percussion and thundering rhythms produce a dramatic soundscape, while catchy chorus vocals and fierce harsh make for an enticing listen. The song embodies insomnia as a demon who steals sleep from unsuspecting victims during the ‘Hour of the Wolf’. | About Masser: Masser is the brainchild of Gideon Waxman, former drummer of the UK metalcore band Familiar Spirit. After stepping away from touring, Waxman decided to embark on a new creative journey. With an ardent desire to express himself as a songwriter, Gideon has found solace and artistic liberation in crafting deeply expressive and powerful cinematic music. His compositions are characterized by dark folk-tinged layers, rich sonic textures, and melodies that have the ability to evoke a wide range of emotions within the listener. With a keen focus on creating immersive soundscapes, Gideon’s music invites listeners on a transformative journey. While influenced by artists and styles from the realms of metal, Masser draws inspiration from video game and film soundtracks including the Elder Scrolls video games series and Lord of the Rings. Composers Jeremy Soule, Hans Zimmer, and James Newton Howard, also play a notable role in inspiring creativity for Masser’s music. Masser emerged with the release their debut album Chain of Gifts in December 2022.
