Hollow Idol’s Eye – “Pickup Lies”

Hollow Idol’s Eye is a 3-piece rock band from Colorado Springs. The band, found each other on Craigslist and bonded over a love of music through the decades (how cliché) and have all come together with their own unique variations of taste and writing style with inspiration from various eras of rock, so the first album has a lot of variation in feel between all the songs.

The raw/sloppy sound was inspired by the Bon Scott era of AC/DC and the idea for the lyrics was just the funny idea of being rejected for being a fraud pickup artist who’s almost too desperate to find himself a woman.

“Pickup Lies”, sounds like a classic Alternative Rock, well enhanced by a strong voice , something decidedly original, engaging and overwhelming, a proposal that can be listened to with extreme ease and naturalness.

A dynamic trend where technic and body blend together thanks to a good glue made of refined sounds well adapted to the musical context that embellish the listening.
A listening that reveals good technical and compositional skills, and that demonstrates how Hollow Idol’s Eye knows how to move with familiarity in their musical environment.

“Pickup Lies”, lays the foundations on really spot on metrics and riffs, managing to dose a mass of sounds that give concreteness and a sound mature enough to get noticed and appreciated.
