“The Watcher and The Witness” is the dynamic new single from Ontario based progressive rock outfit, TAKING BALFOUR. Intricate catchy riffs, thrilling instrumental layers and soaring vocals combine to deliver a high-octane release.
“We are extremely excited to release our new single “The Watcher and The Witness”. We began writing this song during the pandemic nearly 2 years ago. The melodies, timing, and a lot of the song structure adapted over time until we had exactly what we wanted. This was the first song off our upcoming album that we recorded, as well as the first song we wrote together with the full and current lineup of TAKING BALFOUR. The song was recorded and engineered by Zac Culp, mixed by Andrew Lauzon and mastered by Alex Snape. The video was shot by Michael Crusty of Crusty Media at AlphaCoin Network in Milton, Ontario.
“The Watcher and The Witness” is about the voices we carry within us. The light and darkness we all internally posses. The inner struggles we face and deal with everyday inside our own heads. This song is a reminder that we are all human, and the potential for good and evil lies within us all.
Following the release of their 2020 self-titled debut album,”The Watcher and The Witness” marks the next chapter for TAKING BALFOUR with a completed line-up and preparing for their new full-length releasing later this year.
