Alternative metal outfit ALIS – A Life In SCARS return with their brand new single and official music video, “Poised to Outlast”, a powerful and emotionally charged track that explores hope, resilience and love as the ultimate act of resistance.
Set against a world consumed by chaos, conflict and uncertainty, “Poised to Outlast” tells the story of a voice rising from ruins and darkness, where everything seems to have lost its meaning.
Through pain, collapse and isolation, love emerges as the force capable of transforming despair into light, offering refuge, changing perspectives and reminding us of our shared humanity.

ALIS, short for A Life In SCARS, has evolved from the solo vision of singer and songwriter Alessia Picchiotti into a full-fledged alternative metal band based in Rome, Italy.
Blending heavy guitar work, modern alternative influences and emotionally driven songwriting, the band has developed a distinctive sound where aggression and melody coexist naturally. Their music explores themes such as inner conflict, personal demons, resilience, rebirth, war, social injustice and the growing emptiness of contemporary society.
Following the release of the EP “DEMONE” (2023) and the full-length album “ELEVEN” (2024), ALIS now enter a new creative chapter, embracing a darker, heavier and more mature artistic direction while preparing to expand their activity beyond Italy.
Driven by authenticity, passion and a strong artistic identity, ALIS aim to leave a lasting mark through music that speaks to both strength and vulnerability, while inspiring a new generation of women within the rock and metal scene.
