Formed in 2022, Smoke Break is an eclectic, living, breathing organism of indie rock with post-punk, noise, and dance influences woven through it. With a lineup that has shifted over the years, it is anchored by the trio Maxwell Kern, Nathaniel Lezra, and Brendan Watters. A sound that is at once New York to its core, yet also global, with roots in Ireland, England, Spain, and Bulgaria, Smoke Break’s sound is reflective of the sounds that inspire them, the personal journeys the members have been on, and the shared goal of making something unique in 2024 that will unite an audience emotionally, and above all, make them move.
