Overlaps – “Skin”
Overlaps, is a rock band from the northeast of Italy, more precisely from near Venice, formed in 2016. They opened for The Darkness and The Amazons at Pordenone Blues Festival in Italy this July 2022. The band has just toured with The Rasmus again 12 gigs in 14 days around Europe, hitting huge and famous stages like O2 Forum Kentish Town London, O2 Ritz Manchester, Rock City Nottingham and O2 Academy Bristol.
Overlaps’ debut single “On Monday” stormed the Virgin Radio charts in their native Italy in 2016 and managed to stay in them for six weeks. The band’s named debut album “Overlaps” was released in September 2018 and was produced by Fabio Trentini (Guano Apes, Donots), who brought his very own mix of 90s rock and crossover to the production.
“Skin”, the new single, is a proposal whose fluid and dynamic setting manages to keep the listening amalgamated, giving a full-bodied track with an exhilarating metric and a decisive and at the same time intense voice. A song full of dynamics that is the clear sign of the versatility of this band and how it manages to propose good music with naturalness.
The song, captures the essence of a fleeting passion, a carnal and overwhelming love that burns intensely only to fade away, leaving a profound void. The lyrics tell with raw sincerity and poetry the conflicting emotions of a feeling that cannot last but leaves an indelible mark.
