Leoni - "L'Ultima Offensiva"

LEONI is the new project by Dario Leoni (a multi-instrumentalist and composer active since 1990, previously with Pounder and since 2002 with VersozerO) alongside Fabio Privitera (an actor and director, known for his role in the musical ‘Dracula Opera Rock’ by P.F.M., and a singer who has previously worked with bands like Bejelit, Aeternal Seprium, Sound Storm, and VersozerO) as the lead vocalist.

LEONI was born out of Dario’s creative urge. He wanted to embark on a solo project where he could handle also the entire instrumental aspect. Drawing from solid roots in Rock and Metal, he aimed to explore diverse sounds and set music to various thoughts that begged to be sung.

In this endeavor, Dario is delighted to reunite with Fabio (with whom he had previously collaborated on VersozerO’s album EVOLVER) as the lead singer. Joining them is Lorenzo Mari, a versatile multi-instrumentalist and former student of both Walter Calloni and A. Golino at the G. Verdi Conservatory in Milan. Lorenzo collaborates with various artists and works as a session musician in different recording studios. Additionally, the project features a few special guests.

Twelve songs, with lyrics in Italian, where technique and speed blend perfectly, creating a truly interesting album and for lovers of progressive metal rock, one played carefully not to neglect the smallest details.

Dry drumming, guitars pumped to the max, with a voice that reveals itself as powerful and mighty, giving life to an album, not easy to digest. “L’Ultima Offensiva” published by Ghost Record is a CD of those that are few to find around especially in the underground world and that for this we imagine can be loved and hated at the same time.

The solutions proposed in these songs are different from the mass and this is because Leoni, tries to bring something new in a field like Prog Metal Rock, where it is difficult to experiment too much and Leoni has managed to throw himself and risk, to win.
