Kudre – “My Design”
Kudre is a song writer and muti instrumentalist from South East London. Kudre starting writing music at eleven years old using Logic Pro to record and produce his music. Over the last decade Kudre homed in on his production, writing and instrumental skills, playing every instrument on his tracks and mastering the songs himself.
Inspired by bands such as Linkin Park, Nirvana and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kudre often writes music that spans across several niches in the rock music genre. Some of his songs such as “Start of a Life”, “What I Got” and “Like This” appeal to funk rock guitar and bass riffs with hip hop style vocals on top. Whereas others such as, “For You”, “Basement” and “Not That Easy” play on heavier riffs, with loud choruses, evoking a more powerful sound. Kudre also explores quieter and slower music, focussing on melodies and soundscape type synths which have a more haunting sound.
What is perhaps most unique about Kudre’s music is his unapologetic honesty in his lyrics, discussing personal issues and experiences in a way that speaks truth to those that listen to his music. His sound can be described at times as quirky, but the content of the music is almost universally depressing.
A dynamic trend where technic and body blend together thanks to a good glue made of refined sounds well adapted to the musical context that embellish the listening.
A listening that reveals good technical and compositional skills, and that demonstrates how the band knows how to move with familiarity in their musical environment.
“My Design”, lays the foundations on really spot on metrics and riffs, managing to dose a mass of sounds that give concreteness and a sound mature enough to get noticed and appreciated.
